The Society of Automotive Engineers at the University of South Florida is an organization of students who collectively design, fabricate, and race Baja and Formula cars. Even though it is the "Society of Automotive Engineers," you don't need to be an engineer to be on the team. While some of the design of the car requires engineering, the majority of the skills needed are not taught in any classrooms at USF.
When the cars are finished, a dedicated engineering student is just as likely to drive the cars as a dedicated business student. If you'd like to be a part of the team, just come out to the shop.
There are no dues or fees to join the team. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 8PM at the SAE shop. Everyone is welcome to attend the meetings. The SAE shop is located on the USF Tampa campus, behind parking services next to the new parking garage on the north side of campus. Look for the green garage door and the SAE bus.
